A Tribute to Tee Pal’s Inventor

Tee Pal was created by Brian Botbyl, a designer, engineer, and lifelong problem-solver from Twin Lake, Michigan. He invented Tee Pal for himself. It was a simple solution that made teeing up possible without bending. He later turned it into a business that has helped golfers across the country.

When I bought Tee Pal, Brian and his wife Kathy welcomed me into their home for two full days. We shared stories and hands-on learning. Kathy helped with the transition and clearly played a big role in supporting the business behind the scenes.

Brian had the energy and curiosity of someone much younger. He showed me how to use CAD software and gave me a full tour of his 3D printer setup. He even had a custom SodaStream setup with an industrial CO2 tank and flavors on tap. I quickly learned that was just Brian. Always building and creating.

Brian passed away on March 18, 2025. His legacy lives on in every Tee Pal we ship. We are proud to continue what he started.
